Laxman Jhula Rishikesh

Lord Rama’s younger brother Lakshmana had crossed the river with the help of jute ropes at this place. Inspired by Swami Vishwananda, this bridge was made of strong iron wires in 1889. There is a temple of Lord Lakshmana on the west side of this bridge. While its other side is the temple of Lord Rama. It is said that Shri Ram himself had come to this place himself. After crossing the bridge, the foot path leads to Badrinath and to the right and to Swarg Ashram.

Triveni Ghat Rishikesh

Triveni Ghat is one of the major tourist places. Triveni Ghat is the main ghat in Rishikesh where the Ganges river takes a dip in the morning. It is said that there are three major rivers of Hinduism at Triveni Ghat. It is the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. From Triveni Ghat the river Ganges turns to the right. There is a beautiful statue of Ganga emerging from the hair of Shiva at this Ghat Ghat.

Vashisht Cave Rishikesh

Vashisht Cave is 16 km away from Rishikesh. This place is considered to be quite prominent for meditation. It is situated amidst sycamore trees. There is also a Shivling, considered sacred by Hindus, near the cave. Vashishta Cave where the sage thus attained accomplishment. After coming down from the high hills and going to the banks of the Ganges, then there is this cave which is quite natural.
