Uttarakhand is known as Dev Bhoomi. There is a gathering of tourists here in every season. Whatever be the weather, the beauty of Uttarakhand is made on sight. There is a lot to see in Uttarakhand. There are many cities and villages in every state about which people do not know much.

Today we are going to tell you about such a village in Uttarakhand, about which you must know. This village is related to Pandavas and Kauravas.

Located in the eastern part of Uttarakhand, the Darma Valley shares its border with Tibet and Nepal. The valley has a population of 5000 which is settled in about 12 tribal villages. The valley has not got the fame that other Himalayan valleys have been getting. Very few tourists come here so that it remains untouched and in its original form even today. Protected by glaciers and enriched by the Darma River, this valley evokes the vibes of the 19th century. The lush green meadows, the aromatic hills amidst colorful orchids make one feel like living in a different era.

What to see and do here

Darma Valley is the best place to save life’s simplicity. The best thing to do here is to witness the natural beauty and enjoy the life of the local people. Still, those who wish for more can explore this place.

Panchchuli

Panchachuli peaks and glaciers are the hallmark of Darma Valley. Almost all the visitors who ever visit the valley do not live without witnessing the breathtaking view of the five cone shaped peaks covered in snow. The five peaks, ranging in height from 6,334 m (20,781 ft) to 6,904 m (22,651 ft), have an important story associated with them. It is believed that the Pandavas cooked their last meal here before going to heaven. You can follow in their footsteps on a trek that will take you through glaciers, flower fields, rural environments and remote areas and this can take several days.

In fact, there are snowy mountains all over the world. But in India, mountains have a spiritual significance as they are considered to be the abode of the gods. The holy places of many major deities are situated on the Himalayan mountains which attracts everyone. Talking about ancient scriptures, there is a mention of eight mountains with Om imprint on them. We have discovered only one of them so far – Adi Kailash. Many times there were attempts to climb here but each time it was considered unsuccessful. You can trek around Adi Kailash to catch a glimpse of many rare peaks. These may take you several days. Daniya along with Parvati Lake, Shiva Temple and the scenic village of Nabidang are other attractions of this trek.
